About Friends for Diabetes
Friends for Diabetes’ society (FFD) is a volunteer-based charity organization established in 2008 by a decree of HH Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah.
FFD is registered in Ministry of Community Development since 2021
FFD works under the umbrella of the ‘Health Promotion’ department in the Supreme
Council of Family Affairs. It is privileged to be under the patronage of HH Sheikha Jawaher
bint Mohammad Al Qassimi, president of Sharjah Supreme Council of Family Affairs.
Mission
FFD is dedicated to increasing public awareness about diabetes by providing educational tools, as well as psychological, social and financial support.
Vision
To promote healthy lifestyle across U.A.E in order to decrease the incidence of diabetes and its complications.
Our Services
Blue Membership
The membership allows members to obtain diabetes testing and treatment supplies at discounted prices through Zahret Al Rabee Pharmacy – Al Khan branch. It aims to facilitate access to essential medical devices for people with diabetes, helping to ease the financial burden on patients and their families.
Registration
Green Membership
The membership offers an opportunity to contribute to supporting children with diabetes and their families by providing support to covers the costs of medical consultations, laboratory tests, glucose monitoring devices, and necessary medications through the Red Crescent. It also contributes to offering moral support by involving patients and their families in the association’s activities, organizing recreational trips specifically for children with diabetes, and holding specialized educational workshops on carbohydrate counting to help children better understand how to manage their diet in a simple and engaging way.
